The Relationship Between Americas and Muammar al-Qaddafi

The Relationship between the United States and Qaddafi
While conducting my research I found something quite intriguing as I pick the topic of the relationship between America and Gaddafi.
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was native born of Libya, he graduated from the University of Libya, he is a devout Muslim and he had a plan to become leader of Libya by overthrowing the current leader of Libya who names is King Idris. Muammar Gaddafi plan to over throw Idris was describe as “military coup.” On September 1,1969Gaddafi got into power and started making drastic changes that shaped the situation in Libya is currently facing today with the United States, The UN and Nato)
1.      One of the first tasks that Leader Muammar Gaddafi made consisted of the removal of U.S. and British Military Bases in 1970.

2.      Secondly In 1973 Muammar Gaddafi expelled native Italians and Jews from his all Libyan communities.

3.      Thirdly due to respect of the principles of Islam, leaders Muammar Gaddafi outlawed gambling and all alcoholic beverages from his country.

4.      Gaddafi also made attempts to unite Libya with other Arab Countries.

5.      According to research Muammar Gaddafi created tension between Libya and the U.S. by financing international terrorist groups such as (The Nation of Islam, The Black Panthers and The Irish Republic Army in Netherlands.)

6.      ‘Squads of Libyan agents assassinated émigré opponents abroad, and his government was allegedly involved in several bloody terrorist incidents in Europe perpetrate by Palestinian or other Arab extremists.”

7.      “Libya's purported involvement in the destruction of a civilian airliner over Lockerbie, Scot., in 1988, led to United Nations (UN) and U.S. sanctions that further isolated Qaddafi from the international community. In the late 1990s, however, Qaddafi turned over the alleged perpetrators of the bombing to international authorities. UN sanctions against Libya were subsequently lifted in 2003, and, following Qaddafi's announcement that Libya would cease its unconventional-weapons program; the United States dropped most of its sanctions as well. Although some observers remained critical, these measures provided an opportunity for the rehabilitation of Qaddafi's image abroad and facilitated his country's gradual return to the global community.”

The above acts numbered 5, 6, and 7, created deep tension with the United States of America and Leader Muammar Qaddafi;  and in return of this tension, a U.S warplane bombed various locations in Libya that injured and killed his family members and nearly killed Gaddafi in April 1986.

With the above relationship describe  above due you believe that Libyan Leader Muammar Qaddafi and the severness of the NATO Airstrike is a coincidence or is it in terms of disapproval of leadership by Qaddafi?  All of the above events deal directly with the  United States in terms of challenge of power.
